I got my check today.
You know, that payoff from w bush?
three-hundred bucks.

I don’t know if I should cash it.

I mean, of course I will, as I ain’t stupid
(it expires in 180 days)
cause something tells me if I don’t,
the cash will go right back in his pocket somehow.

I am thinking of all my friends,
and how this $300 actually helps greatly
because alot of us are broke,
and jobless in the past 7 months
since he became president.

Also, most of our stock has dropped in half
in the past 9 months since the election.

I am torn here.
I am born here.
Into a world that we thought we had changed.
and now that world seems so deranged.

even poetry has lost a luster
and I feel like my work this year has been fluffy
cause I was so shocked by all that has happened
that I lost some momentum within

unlike President Clinton,
you will never hear about the personal life of w bush.
and the reason is, the press actually can attack him on his
politics. President Clinton was amazing,
so they had to search for personal things to attack him on.

right now
the media doesn't have the time to look for anything in wb’s personal life.
they have so many articles to write on his bad politics.

and I have this check here
i am checking it out

maybe I should buy something in particular with it.
maybe a stereo, or cd burner

or maybe just leave it in my account
and let it dwindle over the next days

and for my 300 bucks
3 million out of work
